The program director is responsible for coordinating, managing, and running the CoderDojoKC program. This is a technical/speaking/public-facing/leadership role. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, growing and engaging the CoderDojoKC team
  • Driving program maintenance, growth, and expansion

  • Ensuring monthly tasks are completed for successful session operation
  • Running sessions and monthly program leadership meetings

  • Attending monthly program director meetings and collaborating with other program directors
  • Managing and transporting session materials

  • Owning strategic partnerships

The marketing director is responsible for marketing the CoderDojoKC program both to attendees and potential mentors/volunteers by identifying and understanding target markets and planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies that align with the program's goals. CoderDojoKC is a free program for kids ages 7-17 to teach computer programming languages such as, Scratch, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, etc.  Responsibilities include:
  • Export previous attendee information from Eventbrite and import to MailChimp
  • Sending monthly micro-newsletters to attendees
  • Schedule monthly social media posts to promote the event
  • Post/schedule weekly engagement posts
  • Post Eventbrite events with tracking links to calendars including:
    • KCWiT website
    • Facebook
    • Meetup
    • KC STEM Alliance
    • KC Sourcelink
  • Post the program mentor/volunteer/leader bios to KCWiT blog

The technical materials director is responsible for creating and updating monthly worksheets. This is a technical administrative role that requires web development knowledge. Responsibilities include:
  • Develop monthly worksheets
  • Ensure consistent writing voice across worksheets
  • Ensure and define consistent default content across worksheets
  • Define consistent styling for common worksheet sections
  • Update worksheet content based on leadership feedback, mentor feedback, and session feedback
  • Ensure worksheet instruction aligns with the curriculum outline and presentation
  • Ensure worksheet instructions are clear, concise and addressed to a beginner level audience
  • Ensure Glossary is up to date
  • Collaborate with Curriculum Director & Presentation Director
  • Publish worksheet to website monthly
  • Attend monthly sessions in a mentor capacity
