The marketing director is responsible for marketing the CoderDojoKC program both to attendees and potential mentors/volunteers by identifying and understanding target markets and planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies that align with the program’s goals. CoderDojoKC is a free program for kids ages 7-17 to teach computer programming languages such as, Scratch, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, etc. Responsibilities include:
- Export previous attendee information from Eventbrite and import to MailChimp
- Sending monthly micro-newsletters to attendees
- Schedule monthly social media posts to promote the event
- Post/schedule weekly engagement posts
- Post Eventbrite events with tracking links to calendars including:
- KCWiT website
- Meetup
- KC STEM Alliance
- KC Sourcelink
- Post the program mentor/volunteer/leader bios to KCWiT blog
