Brand Guidelines:

Kansas City Women in Technology is an organization unique to Kansas City and was created to serve the needs of the Kansas City community. Kansas City Women in Technology is not a chapter of a larger organization and is not affiliated with any other organizations like Girls Who Code, Girl Develop It!, Women in Tech, Women Who Code – though we do promote their efforts. Kansas City Women in Technology has launched several programs that reside under the umbrella of Kansas City Women in Technology as a larger organization. Those programs include CoderDojoKC, Tech sHeroes, TechTalks, Coding & Cupcakes, and Coding & Cocktails.

TechTalks are Kansas City Women in Technology’s monthly networking events. They occur on the 3rd Wednesday of the month and feature speakers, panels, mentoring opportunities, and networking.

Coding & Cocktails is an introductory session for women(21+) to learn to code over cocktails. The sessions cover skills needed for a career as a web developer and fill in the gaps where online coding tutorials fall short.

CoderDojo is a global non-profit, Kansas City Women in Technology launched and manages the Kansas City Chapter. It meets every second Saturday of the month from 9am-12pm at KC Stem Alliance. KC Stem Alliance does NOT run CoderDojoKC, they graciously provide CoderDojoKC a free space to use.

Tech sHeroes is a mentoring program that encourages and empowers middle school girls to explore careers in technology, learn to code, and take on projects that improve the world.

Coding & Cupcakes is the original program created to engage mothers and daughters in learning to code and dispel notions that coding isn’t for girls. Sessions always start with a panel of women mentors discussing how they got into programming and their favorite things about their job.
