September Tech Talk
Join us for our monthly Tech Talk! Network with other women in technology, meet like-minded ladies to attend conferences and meetups with, get the scoop on upcoming volunteering and mentoring opportunities, and feel free to bring your laptop to do some coworking! This session we will hack & tell - bring a project you want to show off, bring a problem you need help solving, or talk through some code that could use some refactoring.

Tech sHeroes After School Session
Learning Theme Visual Programming with Scratch Objective Students will get familiar with block programming by using the online Scratch tool. Power Up Mentors will bring in or show a project they have worked on personal or work related that would engage and motivate the girls. Johnson County Community College's 2014 Girls in STEM conference's theme is 'STEM: It's a Girl Thing!', and is filled with sessions to explore each of the 4 fields - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. 10 school districts in the Johnson County area were invited to attend, with close to 300 girls. Kansas City Women in Technology is running the Technology session - "Scratch That!", which introduces girls to programming through a special project on Scratch. Check it out!
