Kansas City is home to many fantastic technology user groups offering great content. However, many of these groups are very male dominated, and it can be intimidating joining a highly technical meetup group for the first time, especially as a minority.

This is why Kansas City Women in Technology has worked with meetup organizers throughout the city to create pre-meetups, which are essentially an “early arrival time” for women to meet other women interested in attending a particular event. These pre-meetups are staffed with ambassadors who are friendly faces to seek out, who will introduce you to other participants.
