Coding & Cocktails: Server-side APIs

Session Topic: Server-side APIs: Node.js, REST and SOAP Join us for our monthly coding series, Coding & Cocktails. Women are invited to attend sessions to get an introduction to website building in a fun, laid-back atmosphere. This month we’ll talk about using JavaScript on the server-side, or back-end. We’ll compare to front-end (aka client-side) JavaScript and talk about API protocols and how to interact with them. We will practice using APIs with support from our fantastic mentors! There will be lots of guidance and support for those with little to no coding experience so come join the fun!

• Attendance at previous sessions is helpful but not required – lean on the available mentors to help if you were unable to join our other sessions, there are no stupid questions!
• Wifi-enabled laptop is required (don’t have one? Borrow one of ours)
• Must be at least 21 to attend
• Cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and dinner served
• Please familiarize yourself with Kansas City Women in Technology’s Code of Conduct.
