The Stowers Institute is seeking a qualified Desktop Support Technician to support members of the Institute and provide superior customer service to achieve the Institute’s goals.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to end users
  • Communicate with internal clients and provide in-person, high-touch support
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Troubleshoot PC, Apple and iOS hardware, printing, Windows and OS X Operating Systems, office applications, scientific applications and network connectivity
  • Deploy desktop and laptop hardware
  • Provide training to end users
  • Provide A/V support to members for conference room usage

Minimum Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science or graduation from an accredited program in electronics, computer science, or a related field
  • One to two years in Desktop Support Services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in working with internal and external partners
  • A self-starter willing to commit the required effort to accomplish objectives and identify opportunities, an out-of-box innovative thinker, willing to make suggestions for change
  • Ability to interact professionally and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction and priority
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Willingness to identify and implement best practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Windows 10/11, Mac OS, TCP/IP, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Working knowledge of M365 Office Suite.
