Note: Jewelbots curriculum NOT compatible with Chromebooks).\nThe minimum age requirement is the ability to read\, type\, and use a mouse\nDelicious cupcakes from BabyCakes will be provided for coding fuel!\nPlease review Kansas City Women in Technology’s Code of Conduct\n\nFAQs \nWhat are Jewelbots? \nJewelbots are friendship bracelets for the iPhone era. Technology-enabled jewelry for tween and teen girls\, they’re a means of communicating with friends by lighting up when a BFF is near or buzzing to send messages to a pal across the school. \nWhat are Jewelbots coded in? \nC++ \nWhat is required to attend? \nA wifi-enabled laptop\, with windows\, linux\, or osx operating system and permissions to download software (Jewelbots curriculum is NOT compatible with Chromebooks) . We will be downloading the Arduino IDE to program our Jewelbots with. Be sure to bring a powercord and mouse if you prefer! \nHow does registration work? \nRegister for one ticket for your daughter\, and register for one parent/adult chaperone ticket. This ticket includes your very own Jewelbot + extra band! (Jewelbots retail at $69!) \nIf you’d like to bring several girls or attend the event with another pair\, our form does accommodate that by allowing you to specify the quantity during registration. \nAre there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? \nThe minimum age requirement is the ability to use a mouse\, as well as basic reading and computer typing skills. SUMMARY:Coding & Cupcakes October: Web Development Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly coding series\, Coding & Cupcakes. Parents and daughters are invited to attend sessions to learn about code and how to build websites together. Attendees will learn to build their own websites using tools like Github and IDEs!\n\n 	One ticket per parent/adult chaperone\n 	One ticket per daughter\n 	No coding experience necessary\n 	One wifi-enabled laptop between each mother and daughter is required\n 	The minumum age requirement is the ability to read\, type\, and use a mouse\n 	Delicious cupcakes from BabyCakes will be provided for coding fuel!\n 	Please review Kansas City Women in Technology’s Code of Coduct\n\nDads\, we love you and have expanded what was previously a mother & daugther event to father & daughter teams too! It will be a fun\, easy introduction to coding\, so please encourage the ladies in your life to attend.\n\n\n\nIf you’re a woman looking to attend solo and learn how to code\, check out our companion series made just for you! Coding & Cocktails.\n\nDo you need financial assistance/a laptop to attend? Email us atkcwomenintech@gmail.com\n\nIn you are unable to to attend\, you must cancel 48 hours prior to the event to receive a refund!\n\nFAQs\n\nHow does registration work?\n\nRegister for one ticket for your daughter\, selecting between the option of bringing a laptop or having one provided at the event\, and register for one parent/adult chaperone ticket.\n\nIf you’d like to bring several girls or attend the event with another pair\, our form does accommodate that by allowing you to specify the quantity during registration.\n\nAre there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?\n\nThe minimum age requirement is the ability to use a mouse\, as well as basic reading and computer typing skills. There is a worksheet provided for the parent/chaperone and daughter to work through\, with mentors on hand to assist with the more complex topics.\n\nWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?\n\nThe Upper Level Parking area on the corner of 39th and Warwick is available to all attendees.
