DESCRIPTION:The Rocks | Command Line & Version Control\n  \nJoin us for our monthly coding series\, Coding & Cocktails. Women are invited to attend sessions to get an introduction to website building in a fun\, laid-back atmosphere. \nWe will get comfortable using the command line\, a powerful tool developers use to work efficiently\, to navigate the filesystem in a text-based way. We will also learn about version control and how it helps developers maintain code history and work collaboratively. \nThese concepts are not limited to web development — they are basic building blocks of the development process regardless of the technology stack. Or if you’re creating a cocktail\, it’s the rocks (ice) that binds all the ingredients together in a supporting role. Of course we will also have the help of our awesome mentors! \nThere will be lots of guidance and support for those with no coding experience so come join the fun! \n\nNo coding experience necessary (we mean that!)\nWifi-enabled laptop is required (don’t have one? Borrow one of ours)\nMust be at least 21 to attend\nCocktails\, non-alcoholic beverages\, and light dinner served\nPlease familiarize yourself with Kansas City Women in Technology’s Code of Conduct.\n\nDo you need financial assistance to attend? View codingandcocktails.kcwomenintech.org/financialaid for more information. \nIf you are unable to attend\, you must cancel 48 hours prior to the event to receive a refund!
